George Thorson - EVP, Chief Credit Officer​, Triumph
George has more than 37 years of experience in commercial finance including factoring, asset based lending, business evaluations, loan work out and field auditing. Prior to joining Triumph, George was a principal in Collateral Risk Management, Inc. and Credit Support International. George continues to serve as an industry expert and peer educator for the International Factoring Association and the National Association of Credit Managers. George received a B.S. in Accounting from St. Cloud State University, and is an IFA Certified Account Executive in Factoring (CAEF).
 
Gen Merritt-Parikh - President, Haversine Funding
Gen Merritt-Parikh is the President of Haversine Funding.  With more than 25 years of experience in commercial finance, she is responsible for originations, underwriting, investment analysis, and management and asset allocation strategy. In 2018, as President of Allied Affiliated Funding, she led the company to a successful sale to a nationally chartered bank. Previously, Gen worked in the factoring and asset-based lending space with companies including Liquid Capital, Comresco Capital and Guaranty Business Credit. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics from the University of Texas at Dallas, serves on the Factoring Committee for the Secured Finance Network (SFNet) and holds the Subject Matter Expert designation by the International Factoring Association, having helped develop the first factoring certification program for the industry. She was recognized by the ABF Journal as one of the top women in ABL for 2022 and by SFNet in 2019 as one of the noted women in commercial finance. She joined Haversine Funding in 2020 and resides in the Dallas metroplex with her husband.

Jim Cretella is a Member of the firm’s Banking and Finance Department.  He represents institutional lenders, factoring companies and specialty lenders, as well as borrowers, in a variety of asset based lending, specialty finance and other corporate transactions.  Mr. Cretella has worked on financing transactions covering a wide range of industries, including staffing, transportation, oil and gas, refactoring and government contracting.  He has extensive experience in supply chain and other trade finance transactions, including off-balance sheet receivable purchase facilities.

This is an add-on training class to the IFA Annual Factoring Conference. You do not need to be registered for the IFA Annual Factoring Conference in order to register for this additional training class.

With the exception of meals, because of the hybrid interaction, the in-person and virtual attendee will have a similar experience during this training class. Virtual attendees will be in a live online classroom environment where they can pose questions to the speaker throughout the class. Price is per attendee. This client cash flow planning webinar will explore the types of models and software available for client cash flow planning, the pros and cons of each and will run through some of the practical applications of a weekly planning tool. This webinar planning section will cover forecasting of sales (it's hard and easy), collection modeling in a cash flow model vs ledgers and client aging reports, how factoring looks in a cash flow model and a walk through of purchases and disbursements (the mystery meat of any cash flow model).

  • Robyn has earned her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a CPA license. Three years later, she left the company to take on larger-scale accounting pursuits at The Dial Corporation. After six years at The Dial Corporation, Barrett ventured into the world of corporate finance at FINOVA Capital Corporation, a Phoenix-based publicly traded commercial lender. During her tenure at FINOVA, Barrett held numerous positions including: senior finance manager, senior marketing analyst, senior credit underwriter and vice president of marketing. Barrett holds a master’s degree in business administration from Grand Canyon University and is an active member of numerous industry organizations including: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA); Turnaround Management Association (TMA); Risk Management Association (RMA); International Factoring Association (IFA); Secured Finance Network (SFNet), and the Association for Corporate Growth.

Ullman & Ullman has been co-counsel to the International Factoring Association for over 20 years, and has been advising and counseling factors and lenders for over four decades. Jared represents factors, forfaiting companies and various asset-based lenders and has experience in bankruptcy, restructuring and other commercial transactions as well as commercial litigation. He also has experience managing securitized institutional loans with value in excess of $50 million.

Cancellation Policy:
Here at IFA, your well-being is our top priority. We completely understand that your health and circumstances can change, which is why we've got a modern and flexible cancellation policy in place.
Health-related cancellations: If you decide not to attend an in-person event due to a documented health concern, you won't face any cancellation fees. Instead, you'll receive a full account credit for the attendance fees paid.
Non-health-related cancellations: If you need to cancel your attendance for reasons unrelated to health, on or before 30 days prior to the event, an account credit for the attendance fees paid, minus a 20% cancellation fee, will be applied to your account. If you cancel within 30 days of the event, no refunds will be issued. However, you may freely substitute attendee names from your organization without any penalty.
Please make sure to review the specific cancellation policies for each event listed, as they may have unique terms and may supersede the cancellation policies stated above.
One more thing to keep in mind: If you have unused account credits sitting on your account for more than two years, they will be considered contributions to our organization and will no longer be available to you for use.

 

The International Factoring Association is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
